Take It or Leave It is a weekly highlight series for paid subscribers. Pretty much every Friday, I share a quick hit of things I’m loving.
Most of my writing is long-form and requires time for research between essays. Hopefully, this helps fill in the gaps for you with new finds (or things you want to revisit).
If not, all good. Take it or leave it ✌️

Happy 614 Day to all who celebrate! Here are some updates:

  1. In case you missed it, I started doing some local music writing. My latest story for Columbus Underground profiles Hakim Callwood & Jay Vega on Garlic Jr.’s debut mixtape Today is Beautiful and their recent listening party. Also, we talk about how much fun they had making this project. Now available on digital streaming platforms. Tap below for the full story:

  1. Columbus friends! I’m reading at the Scatter Joy Project’s first-ever Studio Stories event tonight. Also, I’ll be participating in a fireside chat with hip-hop artist Taelor Gray and spoken word poet Donovan Alexander Beck. This will be my first time reading one of my essays live, and I hope people can still feel it without the words in front of them. I’m excited to try this together. Admission is free, and it’s BYOB. Maybe I’ll see you there?
