I'm graduating next year and have been down the career prep rabbit hole lately. This was exactly what I needed to pull me out of it and remember there are more important things. Thanks for writing!
Thanks for reading, Erin! I don’t have much wisdom except that which I’ve picked up from others along the way. But if I can offer anything, remember there’s no such thing as a dream job. And like you said, there are much more important things. Good luck!
I love that you got everyone envisioning the future! Feels really foreign to the work environments I've been in, but what a great way to learn what people love and maybe find something to work toward.
Thanks for reading, Amy! It was special having space for all of us to dream without boundaries or wondering what’s realistic. I’d never experienced anything like that at work before.
I could imagine. I was taking a storytelling class at a time where I was very angry at the healthcare industry. A friend in the class said, what if you don't worry about how to get there and just tell the story of the future as you’d like it to be. That guidance is still working on me, in fact I hope to write a book about that vision.
I absolutely love this approach to work and to life. There is room for all of us at the table and when we support others to thrive, that support will boomerang back to us. It also reminds me of a thought I had last weekend while doing a white elephant with my friends...”why would I want to steal a gift from someone if they are really excited about it?” I wanted everyone to get the thing they really wanted and had no interest in taking it from them 🙃 silly but a similar sentiment!
Yes!!! Thank you so much for reading, Nikki! And I love that white elephant story – such a great way of thinking about how we can better care for each other. So glad we were able to connect!!
Thank you again! Really appreciate you spending time with this one. Got an hour of uninterrupted writing scheduled for tomorrow & excited to dive into your newsletter!

That’s beautiful. I love that.
My teammates at my former employment were the reason work sucked less. We had such a good bond outside work and we looked out for each other.
Yes!!! It’s such a gift when you can find people you trust in the workplace
This. Is. Beautiful.
Thank you, Nadia! I appreciate you reading 🙏🏽

Same!!!!
So thought-provoking and powerful. Also NEED that follow-up essay on capitalism and Christianity like yesterday!!!
Me too!!!
This was a superb read. When it hit my inbox I knew I'd have to set aside time to really make sure I could be present to read and process. Glad I did.
