One of my most important adult realizations has been defining myself by my outside-work creativity instead of by my job! I feel you there. It changes everything for the better.
Yes 100% agree! It’s a small thing, but I don’t list any job stuff in my social media bios anymore. I’d rather you know be my creative work and how I’m showing up in my community
As someone who has struggled with burnout and not feeling creative this was really wonderful to read. I started writing here as a way to fuel my creative self and it’s truly been transformative. Loosening some of my intentions in other areas has helped me realign with what I truly value.
Thanks for sitting with these words, Natalia. I’m glad they could meet you where you are. Also very glad you’re writing on Substack. I can relate with this out being healing for me. Please keep going.
It’s so dope that you’ve held onto those words and returned to them. Truly why I approach my newsletter as an archive. The hope that these essays can live beyond their publish date. Thanks so much for this gift 🫶🏽

"I know that it’s less about where you live your values; it’s most important that you have them." 🙌 THIS.
So thankful these words connected with you, Heather. I appreciate you reading!
